Greenland’s west coast. Few have ever dived these waters. In June 2026, Seven Oceans Expeditions completed the first organized polar diving expedition on this coast, aboard the M/S Tulu, exploring sites that had rarely, if ever, been dived before. What we saw fascinated us. What we didn’t yet see intrigued us even more. Years of diving exploration lay ahead. There are no established dive sites, no operators, no infrastructure. Our expeditions exist to change that. In 2027 and 2028, we continue where we left off: searching for undiscovered wrecks, diving among icebergs, and encountering marine life rarely seen by divers. The opportunity for discovery is endless.

Defined by Discovery
Cold water. Abundant life. Unexplored coastline.
Greenland has one of the least-dived coastlines on earth. Below the surface, almost nothing has been explored, which is why our polar diving expeditions here are unlike anywhere else. What we will discover on each expedition is genuinely uncertain. That is the point.
Potential Highlights
Uncharted Wreck Sites
Greenland’s coast holds wrecks that have rarely, if ever, been dived. We seek them out through local knowledge and firsthand reconnaissance, diving sites with no dive logs and few to no published records.
Icebergs
Some of the world’s most prolific iceberg activity, calved from one of the fastest-moving glaciers on earth in the Ilulissat Icefjord in the north. In the south, there is potential for icebergs to drift up the coast from east Greenland. Diving among them is surreal. No two dives are the same.
Arctic Marine Life
Cold, nutrient-rich waters support whales, seals, and Arctic species rarely encountered by divers, abundant precisely because so few have dived here.
Topside Scenery
Between dives, the surface offers its own drama: glacier fronts, fjord walls, and a coastline few travelers ever see.

Who Leads the Way
Each expedition is led by an experienced Polar Diving Expedition Leader and Polar Dive Guides, and on select expeditions, a renowned Resident Explorer and/or the President and Founder.
Some of Our Polar Diving Leaders
World-renowned technical diving expert with over 35 years as a professional diver, more than 17,000 dives, and 2,500+ hours on rebreathers. Has trained astronauts at the European Space Agency. Served as Resident Explorer on the inaugural Greenland expedition. Select expeditions feature Tom as Resident Explorer.
Certified cave and wreck diver who has explored underwater environments in more than 27 countries across six continents. Founded Seven Oceans Expeditions to expand access to remote polar and cold-water diving.
17+ years living in Greenland. Technical and commercial diver, dive instructor, and trained marine biologist with firsthand knowledge of Greenland’s coastal waters. Has worked on conservation initiatives with WWF and the Greenland government.
Born and raised in Brno, in the Moravian region of the Czech Republic. IDC Staff Instructor, Master Scuba Diver Trainer, EFR Instructor, and Ice Diver with more than 5,000 dives and 15 years of dive instruction experience. Who This Is For
Built for experienced cold-water divers ready for true exploration.
While the expedition diving standards below reflect our minimum expectations for diver proficiency, final participation is confirmed during a one-on-one expedition briefing prior to booking.
Certification & Logged Dives
Advanced Open Water certification or similar from a recognized agency, with a minimum of 150 logged dives.
Drysuit Experience
Prior drysuit diving experience is required. You should be comfortable managing buoyancy control and trim while wearing sufficient undergarments in a drysuit and up to 12 kg/26 lb or 15 kg/33 lb of additional weight. You should have at least 20 drysuit dives.
Equipment Ownership & Proficiency
You should have personal ownership of, and proficiency with, a drysuit and cold-water diving equipment.
Cold Water Diving Experience
Prior experience in cold-water environments with water temperatures as low as 9°C / 48°F or less. On the expedition, water temperatures may reach 0°C / 32°F.
Comfortable with the unknown
This is exploratory diving on a coastline with no established sites. Flexibility and a discovery mindset matter more than a logbook.
Self-sufficient in the water
Able to dive your configuration confidently and competently, manage your own gear, and operate safely as part of a small team.
Diving Configurations
Single-Cylinder Backmount
Divers diving single-cylinder backmount will use M25 H-valves with two independent first and second stages. Bring two sets of cold-water regulators for this configuration.
Doubles / Twinset
Bring cold-water regulators, hoses, and an appropriate backplate and wing. We’ll have cylinder manifolds and bands for 12-liter steel cylinders.
Sidemount
Experienced sidemount divers are welcome, though water entry and exit can be more challenging and demanding. If you have experience diving doubles/twinset, we do recommend this configuration instead.
